Air Source Heat Pump Installation

Green Energy Banbury are proud to install air source heat pumps in Banbury, Oxford, Buckingham, Stratford-Upon-Avon and the surrounding areas

What is an air source heat pump? and how does it work?

Air source heat pumps extract heat from the outside air into water, which in turn heats your home via radiators or underfloor heating and water stored in a hot water cylinder.

Heat pumps capture the thermal energy already present in the air, this heat is absorbed into a fluid which in turn is passed through a heat exchanger into the heat pump, raising the temperature and transferring the heat to water.

This type of system is suitable for many different types of homes. The unit is placed either on the ground or fitted to a wall but both must have space around for a good flow of air.

There are two types of systems that can be fitted:

The monobloc system has all the components within the outdoor unit with pipes that carry the water into the central heating and hot water system.

The spilt system separates the systems into to an indoor and outdoor system, this is more suited to larger homes with more space inside and outside.

Air Source Cylinders

Air source heat pump hot water cylinders work by extracting heat from the outside air and using it to heat water for your home. Unlike traditional water heaters that generate heat directly or indirectly from another heat source, these systems transfer heat from the air, making them an energy-efficient alternative.
